Artisan set to launch in Australia
Startup, micro and SME professional Australian businesses will soon have a new choice of insurer with Artisan insurance agency set to launch in August.
Delivering nimble and customised insurance, the Artisan team is ready to reshape insurance for small Australian businesses by delivering tailor made cover with a same day response.
“Our goal is to deliver a lightning speed response for regional, SME and mid-market brokers who are seeking financial lines cover for their small business clients. Artisan is perfectly positioned for small professional businesses and miscellaneous professions including IT consultants, Marketing and Graphic Designers, Management Consultants, Multimedia Professionals and more. We can bring affordable cover tailored to their specific industry, with a very fast response time,” said Lewis Patton, Managing Director for Artisan.
“As a small and privately owned Australian business, we’re excited about giving other small businesses a fast and fair deal on insurance. Some insurers avoid these businesses as the premiums are small and they struggle with efficiencies, that’s where Artisan can offer value and really meet their needs. Our premiums start from just a few hundred dollars and we can generate our quotes in minutes.”
Capacity is being offered by global insurer Liberty Specialty Markets, which has entered into a three year binding arrangement with Artisan for delegated underwriting authority.
Liberty Specialty Markets is a billion dollar commercial insurer in Australia, and brings the security of world class A rated capacity and an award winning claims service.
Liberty is delighted to put our capacity and support behind Artisan, helping small Australian professional businesses access our leading insurance capacity and services. Today 81 of Australia’s largest companies in the S&P ASX100 choose to insure with Liberty, and through Artisan we can now welcome some of our country’s smallest hardworking businesses to our client base,” said Marcus Thomas, who leads Liberty’s Casualty and Professional and Financial Risks teams.
“This partnership brings a new way for small businesses to access Liberty’s underwriting expertise, and also our highly regarded local claims service,” said Thomas. In the 2023 NIBA Broker Market Survey, Liberty was recognised as the leading general insurer in all seven claims performance drivers, including timely claims resolution, quick and efficient assessment process and single point of contact dealing with claims.
The partnership will enable Artisan to provide a wide range of financial and liability products, including Professional Indemnity, IT Liability, Combined Professional Indemnity, and Management Liability.
“The market values an approach to underwriting that Liberty and Artisan both share, making this a welcomed opportunity between all stakeholders. Liberty, known for their long-term and sustainable approach to underwriting and commitment to their policyholders, will provide a huge level of comfort for our future Insureds, particularly in a constantly evolving market,” said Patton.
